Bodies placed within space, and spaces that exist within the body. Fragmented stories born from experiences that precede memory scatter like plates shattered by bullets. Before they are revealed, they have already been there.
The figure slowly uncovers these forgotten corners and begins a conversation.
Jiyeon Yang describes the central thread of this work as an exploration of boundaries. For her, a boundary is not simply a line separating inside from outside, but a relationship shaped by experiences inscribed in the body before language. It is where unnamed sensations and embodied memories continue to reside.
On stage, the body becomes a passage through which fragmented experiences are reconnected. Within the form of the body, different sensations and states of being collide, overlap, and generate new relationships.
As this process unfolds, subtle vibrations within the body emerge as sound. Body, space, and sound continuously pass through one another, revealing both the space within the body and the body within space.
The trembling extends beyond the skin into the surrounding space. Vibrations that begin within the body gradually resonate with the world outside.
DOODOO is an attempt to encounter what already existed before it could be named. Rather than sealing fragmented experiences into a single meaning, the work invites audiences to witness how different experiences meet upon a boundary, disperse, and continually form new relationships.
Between before and after. Between inside and outside. Between the world we inhabit and the world we perceive.
